Juan Avendaño Parra

Juan has extensive experience in all kinds of intellectual property and data protection matters. He stands out for his advice to domestic and foreign clients in litigation related to copyright, anti-piracy, trademarks and domain names, both in civil and criminal proceedings.

He also advises on aspects related to technology transfer, especially in relation to the development and implementation of strategies to protect intangible assets at national and international level.

Finally, he has also worked as a visiting professor in different programs related to his areas of expertise and is active in different associations, such as the Interamerican Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and the Chilean Association of Intellectual Property (ACHIPI).

Sebastián Wielandt Covarrubias

Sebastián works in the civil and labor litigation area of the firm. He has extensive experience in litigation of various types, both before the ordinary courts and arbitration.  He also has experience in the handling of contentious-administrative matters. 

In turn, Sebastián directs the labor area of MICP Legal, where he advises companies of various industries in individual and collective labor law matters.

Virgilio Topasio Maluk

Virgilio is the head of our patent team and has vast experience advising clients on all kinds of patent and technology transfer matters.

He advises our clients in the protection of their technologies during the whole cycle, from the patentability reoprts to the prosecution of their patents, both in Chile and abroad.

Virgilio also has extensive experience in patent litigation, especially in the pharmaceutical field. Virgilio also focuses on regulatory matters, especially in connection with the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and food and beverage markets.

Virgilio also participates in aspects related to the structuring of technology-based companies, advice to investors, venture capital financing processes, corporate matters related to non-profit associations, trademarks, domain names, among others.

Juan Pablo Marré Grez

Juan Pablo has specialized in public law and regulated markets. In this context, he stands out for his advice on antitrust matters, administrative litigation and contentious-administrative proceedings before specialized administrative entities, public procurement courts and superior courts of justice. 

Likewise, he supports companies in tariff regulation processes in the telecommunications sector, and sanctioning procedures in the telecommunications and sanitary sector, among others.
